A-Game:
1) The highest stakes game at any given
venue often the best players play in these games.
2) A Player that is playing to the best of his/her ability.

ABC Player:
A Player who follows a predictable pattern usually a "by the book" player.

Ace in the hole:
When one of the players down card is an Ace.

Ace to five:
A straight from
Ace to five A,2,3,4,5 the best hand in an ace to five low hand
game where straights and flushes don't count.

Ace-High:
When a player has only an Ace for a high card and no pair.

Aces and Spaces:
A five card hand with a pair of aces and nothing else to go with them.

Aces Full:
A full house with three Aces over any pair.

Aces Over:
1) Two pair with Aces being one of the pairs.
2) A full house with Aces over any pair.

Aces up:
Two pair with aces being one of the pairs.

Acey-Deucey:
1) Two pair Aces and Deuces.
2) In Texas Hold'em when a players two down cards are an Ace and a Deuce.

Act:
1)When a player intentionally gives out a
tell to deceive other players about the strength of their hand.
2)When a player Bets, Checks, Raises, of Folds.

Action:
Either Betting, Checking, or Raising any action taken in a poker game.

Active Player:
Any player still left in a hand.
|
Add on:
When a player buys more chips at the end of the re-buy period during a tournament.

Advertise:
When a player makes a bad bluff to intentionally get caught so they will be perceived as a loose
aggressive player and get called more often when they have the best hand.

Aggressive:
A player who raise or re-raises and seldom calls is considered an aggressive player.

Ajax:
A term used to describe an Ace and Jack in the pocket.
|
All Black:
A spade or club flush.
|
All Red:
A heart or diamond flush.
|
All-in:
When a player bets all thier chips in one hand.
|
All-in over the top:
When a player raises another players bet by betting all their chips.

American Airlines:
Two Aces usually pocket Aces.

Angle:
Borderline cheating.
|
Angle Shooting:
Using borderline cheating tactics to gain an advantage over an opponent; usually an inexperienced
opponent.

Anna Kournikova:
A name for having an Ace and King for a starting hand.

Ante:
Money all players must put into the pot before the hand is even dealt.
|
Ante Up:
Putting ones ante in the pot.
|
Assault Rifle:
Having A-K-4-7 as a starting hand in an Omaha game.
